The Inspector appointed to the Local plan Inquiry held a special session on 10th and 11th November to examine Housing numbers. This was a major test of the soundness of the plan and we were in attendance to speak. The Inspector concluded that the housing numbers had not been calculated correctly and suspended the Plan to allow this work to be undertaken. Potentially this means a further 2,500 dwellings being required in the Borough over the plan period.
The Council have now resolved to allow the Inspector to find the Plan unsound meaning they will have to commence work on a new plan which will require new strategic sites for housing development of which we will be aggressively promoting this site.
